The 10 Worst Things About Summer
Ok, so I read this article that Gawker published called The 10 Worst Things About Summer and I could not agree LESS with any of the things they posted! The ice cream truck sound? Flip flops? Seriously!? Brian Moylan is SUCH a debbie downer! Does he not find joy in anything? So after that terribly depressing article, I challenged myself to come up with my own 10 Worst Things About Summer. The 10...

Happiness
I have been in a great mood today, which I am crediting to: The discovery of the “Glee” channel on Pandora.com The colorful and cheery plants that Phil and Elizabeth sent us as a housewarming gift A nice dosage of endorphins due to an intense lunch-time workout A satisfyingly healthy lunch and some Pellegrino with lemon (my new favorite treat) My adorable kitty (who’s...

30 Days to Create Stuff
Just took the 30 Days of Creativity oath. It’s a project, founded in Minneapolis, that encourages all people of all ages to create something new every day, for 30 days (beginning June 1). This really should be a lifetime thing, but hey, we’ll start with baby steps. Read more about the project here!

My Feelings of Loss for LOST
So, last night Brad and I hunkered down with millions of other Losties around the country and watched the entire 4.5-hour LOST finale event on ABC. Now, I won’t give away any plot points since I know a lot of people haven’t seen it yet since they are behind the times (Mom and Dad) or in Tanzania (Ashley!), but I just wanted to express my EXTREME disappointment at how everything shook...

Puck.
It’s official. The new kitten’s name is Puck. He is named after the rubbery hockey equipment, the trickster in Midsummer Night’s Dream and the hot, mohawked rebel in Glee :) The perfect name for our new little guy. Brad is at the vet with him right now…and I already miss him! (Puck, I mean).

The Wedge.
So today Brad and I had a totally life changing experience. After work, we walked down to The Wedge—a coop our friend Jackie and my Aunt Cheryl have been absolutely RAVING about. It’s only about half a mile from our place, so we strolled on up Lyndale Avenue and they were NOT kidding. The Wedge is A.MAZ.ING. It’s this really great, magical marketplace/grocery store where you can...

Taco John's
Just drove by our first Taco John’s, which means we are officially in Wisconsin (or as Jackie likes to call it, God’s State).

Dark & Stormy
Just woke up and loading the car for Round 2 of Brad and Elyse’s excellent adventure. It thunderstormed ALL night. I kept having visions of lightning striking our U-Haul and all our possessions going up into flames. Luckily, that didn’t happen. At the risk of sounding like a 5-year-old: are we there yet???

Ohio, Enough With The Barns Already.
I can now safely say that the best thing to come out of Ohio is Glee. And that’s made up. Only 13 miles left of this shitty state. Thank God.

On The Road. Again!?!?!?
Well today is moving day! And so is tomorrow. And the next day. Yay……………….. Brad and I are loading up the U-Haul this afternoon (and by Brad and I, I mean Brad and his friend Andrew…while I clean the apartment behind them…although, at first I found my assignment somewhat sexist, I soon realized that all my adorable picture frames, books and other...

How LOST Can Bring Together the Politically...
This year, Brad and I have developed a very close friendship with a couple that I would not have pictured us being so close with. Friendly? Of course. Friends? Sure. But get-together-once-a-week BFFs? Not so much. So, why did I never envision Stu + Hayley and Brad + Elyse being the poster children for perfect double dating? Simple. We are on completely different planets when it comes to...

The New Currency
Jackie: Yeah, I would feel better just giving my clothes away and having it be over. Then people who really need them can get them--but selling them you can make like an extra $100.
Jackie: Which is like 1/3 of an iPad.
Elyse: I love how money now just translates into how many iPads you can buy.
Elyse: "these shoes cost 2 iPads"
Jackie: Its true.
Elyse: We're pathetic.
