I’d been dying to read The Hunger Games for over a year now. My friend Jackie’s mom is obsessed with the series and was talking to me about it last Thanksgiving. She was absolutely raving about it and how she makes all of her students (she’s a professor) read it and write papers on it. I knew I needed to get my hands on a copy. But no one really had a spare around that I could borrow…and I already had a bunch of other stuff to read for book club and it was just not a priority.

Fast forward to one year later. The movie trailer was released the other week and it looked so friggin badass. So engaging. I needed to read it. And fast. So I ordered the book and it came in the mail on Friday. ALL weekend I have been consumed by this book. I am completely enraptured in this world, this story, this character that Suzanne Collins has created. It’s inspiring, terrifying, heart-breaking. Seriously it just sweeps you into this scary, fucked-up world. I can’t remember the last time I read a good page-turner that I could NOT put down. Those suspenseful books are just so few and far between…now I need to get the other two books so I can continue my Hunger Games obsession! Because this book is almost finished…and I can’t wait to find out what happens!
