There are about 1 million (give or take a couple hundred thousand) movies I want to see this summer. Good job, Hollywood! I feel like I never say that. In no particular order, these are the flicks I hope to catch while nursing sunburns on thunderstormy summer evenings:

  • The Avengers (MAYBE. We’ll see how convincing Brad is and how bored I am)
  • The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (love me some Maggie Smith)
  • Moonrise Kingdom (for SURE have to catch this new Wes Anderson one!)
  • Snow White and the Huntsman (Bad to the ass; SIDENOTE: Why is the HUNTSMAN on the poster? Did the poster designer not know that Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart were in the movie and that they’re both kind of pretty and kind of a big deal?)
  • Brave (new Disney feministy film? Yes please!)
  • Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (An apocalypse movie plus comedy? So there.)
  • The Dark Knight Rises (Because I think it’s illegal not to see it)
  • Ruby Sparks

Check out the Atlantic’s summer movie guide here. Rock!
