Bakerella has just about the damn cutest little St. Patrick’s Day treat idea over on her blog—and it’s really easy/cheap, too! The recipe for “Magic Munch” looks a little, uhm, sugary? But I’m thinking of making some of these bad boys (with a slightly altered recipe) for a party we’re going to this Saturday. And wouldn’t these be perfect in a kid’s lunch box? So fun!
Get the recipe and downloadable PDF here.

I don’t know anything about wine. I never taste the smoky notes or floral notes. I don’t know what a tannin is. I barely even know how to use a wine opener. God forbid we decide to order a community bottle at dinner! I’m always the one at the table saying “Whatever you want,” because I have absolutely nothing intelligent to contribute. All I know is that my favorite white is generally Chardonnay and my favorite red is generally Malbec. Oh, and never spill red wine on anything because it stains like a mofo. That’s where my wine knowledge ends.
So it’s no surprise that wine and food pairings intimidate the shit out of me. Enter, this Handy Color-Coded Diagram. I love this chart by Wine Folly that color-codes and simplifies this whole pretentious mystery. Fantastic!

This infographic called “The Cartography of Kitchenware” by the folks at Pop Chart Lab REALLY stresses me out. But that’s because my place is SO not in the kitchen. It’s way more up Brad’s alley. That being said, I appreciate the thoroughness of the design and how they organized so much damn data. It includes over 200 items that chefs need, and are grouped by function. Just think of all the cabinets you’d need!

My AMAZINGLY creative and dear, dear friends from ad school Jason Savsani and Ainara del Valle are part of something almost as amazing as they are. It’s called Meal Sharing, and it’s been getting a lot of attention lately! It’s a great way to meet new people, experience different cuisine and connect over food. They actually just had an article about them over on The Kitchn. Pretty crazy! Go J & A!

This graphic for Massive Health explores data about WHEN we eat and how it effects WHAT we eat. Fascinating stuff.

Passport Dinners is SUCH a cute idea. The company sends out a box of spices and recipe from a certain culture, so you can make an authentic, ethnic meal. Cute idea for a wedding gift or for someone who loves cooking or traveling. This month’s theme is Morocco and teaches you how to make paella. Learn more here.

Loved this piece for Food & Wine magazine about Minneapolis’ awesome food scene. Although I’m not sure I’d call Travail super affordable…but maybe in comparison to like NYC, San Fran and other fancy chef-y places???

The Chef Sleeve for the iPad is a brilliant idea for cooks who read recipes off their iPads and are sick of trying to keep their fingers clean. I would totally get this for Brad, although he tends to read recipes off his laptop…

My two favorite things in the whole world have finally come together: typography and chocolate.

The creative folks at Dynamo created beautiful homemade chocolate bars for the holidays featuring stunning, inspiring type with the help of Montréal’s chocolatier Suite 88. Aren’t they lovely (and delicious) looking????
