There are about 1 million (give or take a couple hundred thousand) movies I want to see this summer. Good job, Hollywood! I feel like I never say that. In no particular order, these are the flicks I hope to catch while nursing sunburns on thunderstormy summer evenings:
Check out the Atlantic’s summer movie guide here. Rock!

These “imposter posters” for the Hunger Games had me cracking up. Just goes to show you HOW big the director of a film impacts the story, the tone and even the marketing.
How awesome does this new movie look? Starring Steve Carrell and Keira Knightley, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World actually looks like a (dare I say it???) original screenplay concept. The film follows Knightley and Carrell during their final 3 weeks on Earth before everything gets destroyed by an asteroid. Is it bad that I feel like the success of this movie will depend about 99% on its ending??? Anywho, it’s due out this spring.

The official countdown to the most important cinematic event of our time.
Or at least a really fucking good story.
Love Nan Lawson’s illustration of Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist in the popular book series The Hunger Games.
I’m going to finish book 2, “Catching Fire,” today and I just can’t wait to see how it all ends. And I SERIOUSLY can’t wait until the movie comes out in March. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a movie since the first Sex and the City one. I’ll definitely be there at the midnight showing, in costume. For sure.
Last night Brad and I watched the new(ish) Woody Allen movie “Midnight in Paris.” I had wanted to see it when it came out in theaters but for some reason or another, we didn’t get around to it. My parents really enjoyed it and said I would too.
Well, they were totally right.
We both LOVED the fun, fresh dialogue, storyline and characters. It felt like a unique idea, was beautifully executed and we both just adored Owen Wilson.
I think we might have to watch it again before our honeymoon to Paris :)
I’d been dying to read The Hunger Games for over a year now. My friend Jackie’s mom is obsessed with the series and was talking to me about it last Thanksgiving. She was absolutely raving about it and how she makes all of her students (she’s a professor) read it and write papers on it. I knew I needed to get my hands on a copy. But no one really had a spare around that I could borrow…and I already had a bunch of other stuff to read for book club and it was just not a priority.
Fast forward to one year later. The movie trailer was released the other week and it looked so friggin badass. So engaging. I needed to read it. And fast. So I ordered the book and it came in the mail on Friday. ALL weekend I have been consumed by this book. I am completely enraptured in this world, this story, this character that Suzanne Collins has created. It’s inspiring, terrifying, heart-breaking. Seriously it just sweeps you into this scary, fucked-up world. I can’t remember the last time I read a good page-turner that I could NOT put down. Those suspenseful books are just so few and far between…now I need to get the other two books so I can continue my Hunger Games obsession! Because this book is almost finished…and I can’t wait to find out what happens!
Love this poster by DKNG Studios showing icons of all the movies Bill Murray has been in, along with the years they were released. So rad!

This article by ‘The Office’ writer/’The Office’ actress Mindy Kaling about the movie industry is hilarious and disturbing all at once. I particularly enjoy her rant about the 7 different rom-com female movie characters. Too friggin funny.
Who wants to see this with me!?!?!?! It looks funny and sweet and sad. All my favorite things in a movie. Oh, and Joseph Gordon Levitt; another one of my favorite things in movies.
New trailer for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Can’t wait!!!
